“Should” is judgement

We often tell ourselves that we should or shouldn’t do things. But “should” is such a bullshit word. We tell others and have others tell us what we should or shouldn’t do and say. They tell us (and we tell ourselves) that we should or shouldn’t act a certain way. It’s all bullshit, and nothing good ever comes from “should”

The notion of should is based upon other people’s expectations. Our parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts/uncles, religious figures, and society tells us that we should want this, we should act that way, we should do this, we should believe that, we should be that. When other people tell us that we “should”, it’s their judgement upon what we are choosing to do, say, act, believe, be and want.

When we tell ourselves that we “should” (or shouldn’t) be, do, act, say, whatever, we are judging ourselves, and in many cases, guilt tripping ourselves.
Lots of love to you all.
