Stop SHOulding yourself
We all need to stop Should-ing ourselves.
-Instead of "I should be further", say "I am exactly where I need to be!"
-Instead of "I should do what makes them happy" say "I do not have to live up to anyone else's expectations of me."
-Instead of "I should look like that" say "I don't need to look like anyone other than me."
-Instead of "I should be working harder, longer, and more" say "I am allowed to listen to my mind, body and soul and take the breaks I need."
-Instead of "I shouldn't be thinking of my own needs" say "It is selfish to take care of my own needs."
We say that we "should" (or shouldn't) because we are comparing ourselves to others and taking on their opinions. And I've always been told that "Comparison is the thief of joy."
